Responsible Care |
Responsible Care is a worldwide initiative of the chemical industry. The aim of Responsible Care is to encourage all employees to act upon corporate targets for environmental protection and safety and to implement them in an innovative manner within their own personal working area – for the purpose of achieving continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental protection.
All companies at CHEMPARK, as well as the Bayer Group companies themselves, have voluntarily undertaken in writing to adhere to the principles of Responsible Care that apply worldwide. As part of its commitment to Responsible Care, CURRENTA GmbH & Co. OHG (formerly Bayer Industry Services) has undertaken to: |
- make strenuous efforts to implement a corporate culture that will guarantee optimal performance in the specific areas that form part of Responsible Care.
- support the Group companies and the CHEMPARK partners in the practical implementation of the RC process, by devising multi-site programs and making available methods and instruments for their implementation.
- set an example by means of the sustainable implementation of Responsible Care within its own sphere. In this regard, for example, CURRENTA provides a utility supply that makes careful use of resources and a cost-effective and environmentally compatible system of waste management. In particular, CURRENTA supports the further development of plant safety, health and safety at work, environmental protection and health protection, including care by company medical personnel.
- inform employees with regard to starting points, targets and results and develop a system of dialog that takes on board employees’ concerns and incorporates these into the further projection of targets, making corporate decisions in an ethically, legally and socially responsible manner and with respect for cultural diversity.
- as operators of CHEMPARK to develop the chemical park network in a sustainable manner and to promote open and responsible dialog with the communities surrounding the plants, to ensure that the interests of the companies located at CHEMPARK are in harmony with those of the local community.
